How to Become a Peer Tutor


Students interested in becoming tutors must be currently enrolled at Centennial College and have completed one semester with a minimum B+ grade in the courses they wish to tutor. Peer tutors work a maximum of 10 hours per week and are compensated for their time. If you are interested in being part of our tutoring team, please fill out the online application form.

Must speak fluent English.
Must be able to clearly convey thoughts and ideas in English.
Must be attentive to detail, punctual and reliable.
Must have excellent grade point average in the courses to be tutored.
Must keep all tutoring appointments as scheduled.
Maintain records and/or statistics as needed for program evaluation.
Demonstrated tutoring skills preferable.

Attendance at an orientation session is mandatory.

All scheduling of tutorial appointments will take place through the Learning Centre. Tutoring will take place in the Learning Centres. Tutors are required to check the booking system regularly for their appointments.
